Louis Mucci

Louis Mucci graduated from Lake Catholic High School and earned a BA from Yale University. He played tight end for the Lake Catholic Cougars and wide receiver and defensive back for the Yale University Bulldogs.

“I put myself through college working in construction during the summers, and in various dining hall and student jobs while in session” says Louis, whom everyone calls Lou. “Once I graduated, I continued working in construction and explored various options for full time work. That summer of 1979 saw a revival in downtown Cleveland. It looked like an exciting place to work.  During that time there were many banks and financial institutions in the East 9th street area, so I looked them all up in the Yellow Pages, wrote a lot of letters and made phone calls until I was hired. That is how I entered this line of work.”

Lou is a financial investment planning counselor with Certified Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) and an Accredited Portfolio Management Advisor (APMA) accreditations which must be renewed every two years. In addition, he earned his Series 7 Broker Dealer License and Series 63 and 65 Investment Advisor licenses.

During his career, Lou has accumulated a great deal of experience which he uses to help clients develop a sound investment plan and avoid paying high fees.  In addition, he has seen the development and growth of many of today’s financial market innovations and understands the roles they might play in a portfolio, but also how they can be oversold and abused.

During several decades in the Institutional side of the financial industry, he learned from bank, insurance company and mutual fund clients how to develop and implement a disciplined asset allocation strategy.  He also saw how individual investors were used as liquidity for the institutions, and charged steep fees in the process.

With that experience as a base, Lou decided to utilize new technology delivery platforms and started Sound Advice Financial in 2016. This enabled Lou to offer world-class investment options, state of the art financial planning and performance management software, and the safety and security of one of the world’s largest custodians, all in a very cost-effective way to clients.

Sound Advice Financial is a member of Advisory Services Network, LLC, and operates as a Registered Investment Advisor. “I chose this arrangement because I am able to offer clients world-class investment options,” says Lou, “but free of the conflicts inherent in a commission driven brokerage environment.  I can provide customized, specific investment strategies that are tailored to my client’s needs and objectives.”

After all these years, Lou is still passionate about financial planning.

“I started in financial planning and investing because it seemed interesting. For me, the greatest reward at the end of the day is when a new client says, ‘Lou, I was scared about the future when I came in, but now that we’ve met, I’m much more comfortable and relaxed.’ I enjoy helping clients make sense of their investments and tailor strategies that fit their lifestyle.”

What Makes Us Knowledgable

Previously, Raymond was the Finance Director for a few large automotive dealerships in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan, managing everything from compliance and oversight, to daily financial operations and money movement.

Raymond attended The University of Toledo’s College of Business and Innovation from 2010-2015. Go Rockets!

In his free time, Raymond likes to play golf, travel, and do anything outdoors. His favorite places to visit are Naples and Key West, Florida.
